Shift Cancellations & Wages Policy
This document will explain under which circumstances staff are – and are not – paid for cancelled shifts on their rota.
Situation | Payment |
---|---|
Client cancels the shift and gives less than 2 hours’ notice | Shift Paid in Full |
Staff arrive for the shift and the client does not show up within 30 minutes | Shift Paid in Full |
More than 2 hours’ notice | Shift Unpaid (shift hours made-up where possible) |
Staff member is unable to attend their shift for personal reasons | Shift Unpaid |
Unable to attend shift due to adverse weather* | Shift Paid in Full |
We cancel the shift due to adverse weather or other safety conditions - 2 Hours’ Notice | Unpaid |
We cancel the shift due to adverse weather or other safety conditions - Less than 2 Hours’ Notice | Paid in Full |
*In most cases, an attempt to attend the shift must be made. In some cases of adverse weather, we may be able to assist staff into getting to and/or from their shift.
