Key Handling Policy

Seven Steps Support Ltd will take responsibility for keys left in our possession, if made in a prior arrangement with the clients we support and agreed in the care plan.

Any keys that are in the possession of Seven Steps Support Ltd are stored in secured locked cabinets. Management have access to the cabinets and clients can request access to their keys, at any time, if required. Keys in Seven Steps Support Ltd’s possession are by prior agreement at the client’s request for safety reasons e.g. spare keys for properties.

Keys held in key safes at clients’ properties are the responsibility of both the client and staff member using them. Staff members only access key safes when needed and are prepared with codes to gain access. All clients with key safes have given prior permission to Seven Steps Support Ltd, for staff to use the keys secured inside to gain access to their property.

Seven Steps Support Ltd ensures all access codes are stored safely and are kept confidential. Only staff members that will require access to key safes and properties will be informed of the key safe codes. They keep these codes confidential and don’t share this private information.
