Key Worker Policy

Seven Steps Support Ltd offers each individual we support a dedicated key worker and a small staff team of 4-5 support workers, depending on the level of support required. This ensures continuity, reliability, and trust between support workers and clients.

We work closely with clients, their family/carers, and key workers to ensure a high standard of care is delivered. Regular reviews, supervisions, stakeholder feedback, and monthly audits are completed to ensure that person-centered care is provided to all individuals.

Key workers are responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures, as well as complying with all laws and regulations. They attend meetings, reviews, or appointments with other professionals or outside organizations at the individual’s request.

Designated key workers build relationships with clients during the initial assessment and provide 1:1 planning. Once support has begun, the key worker is responsible for cascading necessary information to the client’s staff team to ensure that the client receives person-centered care to meet their support needs. Key workers are involved in the planning process to assess how the client’s needs will be met and the level of assistance required. All care plans should be person-centered and meet all personal, spiritual, health, and social needs.

The key worker should promote an environment where the person receiving the service feels able to discuss any areas of concern or issues and be confident that appropriate action will take place as necessary. They should ensure that the person receiving the service is aware of this.

Key workers should support diversity and ensure that any needs or preferences are highlighted and care planned. They should acknowledge and respect cultural, gender, sexual, and spiritual diversity.

In addition, key workers are required to submit weekly reports to management to provide updates on clients’ progress and to identify any concerns or issues that may need to be addressed. If a key worker feels unable to handle a query or issue, they are to report it to the Registered Manager and Directors immediately.
